Carter tries several unsuccessful tricks to further his own ends. Largely due to the fact that Carter's daughter Carole falls in love with Bill, there is a conciliation between Carter and Sid who go into partnership. Sid's new idea of a band-and-dance show in Twenties style is incorporated in the hotel.
